Land Use & Development

Aspen, Snowmass Village, Basalt, and Pitkin County all have very detailed land use codes. Literally all forms of real property development are restricted and many review processes such as §1041 Hazard Review are complicated and lengthy.

Gary A. Wright and John D. LaSalle both have more than two decades each of experience preparing land use applications and supervising them through the application and approval process.

John D. LaSalle was the attorney who achieved the development approvals for the very successful 41 unit “Wilds” luxury town home development in Basalt, Colorado. John also obtained unanimous approval from the Planning & Zoning Commission for a large commercial re-development at the Aspen Airport Business Center including a gas station, car wash, self-storage building, health food store and restaurant. He routinely processes Subdivision, Growth Management, PUD, §1041 Hazard Review and other commercial and residential land use applications.

Gary A. Wright was the attorney and supervised a team to prepare and obtain land use and other approvals including those from the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Justice, State of Colorado, Pitkin County and the City of Aspen to complete the SilverLode Subdivision and Williams Ranch Subdivision. Additionally, Wright & LaSalle, LLP has a number of experienced experts that they regularly call upon to provide required input to land use applications.
